He graduated from Balikesir University School of Tourism and Hotel Management in 1994. He received his master's degree in 1998 and doctorate degree in 2000 at the Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Tourism and Hotel Management. He became a Professor in 2006, Associate Professor in 2013 and Professor in 2019. He has been working as the Head of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department of Balıkesir University Tourism Faculty as of 2020 and as Vice Rector of Balıkesir University as of 2023.
